Two-Floor Studio Transformation | Resonance Designs Renovation Story

Every renovation begins with a vision, but this one began with a challenge. When we first walked into what is now our two-floor studio, it felt raw, industrial, and disconnected. Concrete floors, exposed metal, dark corners, and years of wear made the space feel more like an unfinished workshop than a place to live, gather, or create. But beneath the dust and steel was something far more valuable: potential.
At Resonance Designs, we believe every space has a voice: an energy waiting to be uncovered. This project became an opportunity to truly listen to that voice and transform a cold structure into a warm, expressive home.
Over several months, we reimagined the entire two-floor layout: opening sightlines, bringing in natural light, adding warmth through wood and textiles, and blending textures old and new. Every corner was touched, from the solarium to the staircases, the bedrooms to the dining areas. The goal wasn’t just to renovate, but to create resonance: spaces that feel balanced, lived-in, and quietly alive.
To share the process, we’ve broken the project into three detailed stories:
How an industrial corridor became a bright, welcoming connection between floors with new floating stairs, added warmth, and a clever cut-out that floods the dining room with natural light.
A cold, concrete shell transformed into a warm, intimate sanctuary with layered textures, soft lighting, and materials that bring comfort back to the space.
From dim and disconnected to lively and inviting, this post explores how we reshaped the central living areas into a cohesive, functional, and atmospheric home.
Each transformation reveals a different part of the journey—and together, they show how thoughtful design can turn structure into soul.
We invite you to explore each chapter of the renovation below, and see how the space found its new voice.
